Ear! Ear!

aaarh! thats the sound of a man who is more than happy with a monks ears. after much sweat and toil and endless ear modeling research, ive dont it! ive got an ear that im not only happy with, but proud as punch of to boot. and theres only about two tri's in it! (all you CG bods know what im on about) robe and eyebrows next and he will be just about finished and ready for rigging. haraaH!


aaaargh, who invented ears? im having a nightmare modeling the monks ears!

now, ive been trying to get to grips with topology. this is how my character is looking so far. trying to maintain the corrects edge loops for proper deformation when animating. must get these things right before i go any further.

ok, i ve been really trying to get to grips with the monks final features, i really like the previose design with circles for eyes, but after a lot of consideration ive decided to make them slightly more realistic to help convey emotion better. it may still change a little between now and the finished model, but i think these eyes are as close to what i want without being too real or too cartoony.

Animatic basic geometry pass

this is the latest version of my animatic, with most of the basic geometry built. im still in the proscess of modeling the interiour of the house. ive also added some possible background backdrops to get an idea of the aesthetic.

House Concept

this is one of the design concepts for the monks house, agian its a little more detail than i will be going for but saying that my aesthetic seems to be changing and moving that way anyhow. im just letting it develop until i reach what feels right.
